I wanted to know if anyone had any comments on how good of a tank the Crossfire 51 cubic inch 3000psi fixed nitro system is? Does it have a good recharge rate? Will it keep up with a stock mag? I'm new to mags, so I don't have a blazing trigger finger yet. Also in the manual, it says that shootdown may occur with more than 3bps. Is that true? How bad is the shootdown in excess of 3bps? Like I said, I'm new to mags, but I know I can throw out more than 3bps. Thanks in advance for all your help. From what I've seen and read, I'm sure I'll be happy with my mag.

I have this tank, and mine works very well. I've tried to shoot my down with my AIR valve (stock mag valve), and she keeps up though microline. I shot over a crony at about 6 or 7 bps, and it shot 274..276 the whole time. No shootdown.
I've very happy with that 51 ci Crossfire. It is a great tank for a mag, epecially nice for on-gun. It's light, and the cg will be more forward because it is so short. You don't have to drop it as far to get it balanced.
For the 3 bps thing, where is that out of? The Mag manual I didn't get a manual with my tank. 3 bps isn't too much, you can probably shoot that right now, and keep 'em on the paper. -
Freakyt,
Yeah, the 3bps thing is in the Mag manual. I downloaded it from Airgun Designs homepage. After taking another look at it last night, I think they are refering to when you use CO2, since it is harder to regulate. Thanks for your help. That shootdown question was the only thing I was worried about with the mag. Thanks.Last of the Salzburg ClanComment

Your right, the manual is pretty old. C02 pressure varys greatly as you shoot. As the pressure drops when it is released, more liquid evaportates in the tank to equalize for the current ambient temp of the liquid itself.
This means that anything more than 3 bps for an extended time, and your gonna see major shootdown. That's why you have to have reg when you run C02.
No evaporation in an air tank, however. You have just 3000 psi of air particles in there, when the reg lets them though, they go though.
You got the right idea pal. Welcome to paintball. Hope you like it so far. Remember, stick with it, everyone will get smacked around a little when they first start. Hell, guys like me still get smacked around, I'm used to it

Freakyt,
I hear you on getting smacked around. I'm new to mags and nitrogen but not new to paintball. I've been playing for about 2.5 years with a spyder and co2, and I've had my fair share of whoopings. I am finally able to upgrade, and for the money I have available, I thought an automag would be my best bet.Last of the Salzburg ClanComment
