Do I need the Retro valve with a Hyperframe?

I'm going to kick my old mag up a notch but don't have a lot of extra money to do it. I want to know if the hyperframe works fine with the normal valve or if I will need to upgrade to the retro valve.

it will be fine. the mag can shoot 12bps without shootdown. i doubt you will be shooting faster than that with the new frame, so don't worry.

You can get the retro with the hyperframe if you want but you need to. The hyperframe does have a high rate of fire but I doubt that you'll be able to fire that fast. Additionally you can set the BPS rate so as to not out shoot your loader or valve. The down side is that with the Electro frames you won't be able to take advantage of the reactive trigger with the retro valve. I hope this helps you out.

you dont need it but you may get shootdown at high bps if you use the stock one.

You don't need one as long as you keep your ROF down. Once you start going over 10bps you will have real problems. Slower then that and you should be alright. Shootdown starts at 6bps, and becomes really noticable at 10.

I use co2 on the stock minimag valve with a stock cocker reg and hyperframe. I have timed myself and i can easily shoot the 13bps the frame is limited to and see absolutely no shootdown. Does anyone know how to take out the 13 bps limit if possible?

Thanks guys. I can get 7 or 8 bps now with a stock frame. One of the reasons I would get the hyperframe is to take advantage of the high ROF from electronic grips. I wouldn't want to limit anything. I will probable get the hyperframe first and if I run into problems I'll get the retro valve.

I've had this mag since 93. That is a lot of time to get my trigger pull perfect. I rarely shortstoke.

It's kinda goofy to get both a HyperFrame and a RetroValve, when you could sell your gun and get an EMag outright for a bit more.

I think that miscue is right Cost you about $600 for a retro and frame. Sell your gun for $300 and you can get an e-mag. You can find them around $900 now.

I know it is goofy. That is kind of why I am asking. I would not want to get the hyperframe and then have no choice but to buy the retro valve.

P.S. I'm from Canada and the Emag is a lot more than $900.

The old valve will work fine as long as you don't shoot over 15 bps or somthing like that. If you got a retro with the hyperframe it would be really swwweetttt

I love my retro/hypermag. I got the reto first and the "push" was cool, but nothing like the rate of fire I can get with the Hyperframe on it. It keeps up with the ROF and I know I wont get any shootdown.
