looking to buy a 69 automag

i was at a used sporting goods store and i saw a automag for 149. I have never shot a gun like this nor seen anyone shoot one. Is this a good price for this gun. Since i dont know about this type of gun i do not know what to look for. What is this star on the reg and what else do i need to look for on this think to see if it is good or not. It had a bottom line on it and a decent looking barrel. Up until know i have played with a spyder and i like it, i like to collect guns to play games with to keep it interesting.

Other than here where can i go to learn how this type of gun works. And, is this an open or a closed bolt gun. As you can see i know nothing about this side of the game(meaning guns other than spydie types.)

    thanks

Yeh, $150 for a used mag is not a bad deal, although you can possibily find better on Ebay or here at Automags.Org

    Welcome!

The 'star' on the side represents a time that AGD will take the marker back and fix a problem with it for free (you just pay shipping).

This site, and www.airgun.com are about the two best sites to get info about the mag. People here will be able to help you with just about anything you need to know about it to get her running great.

It is open bolt (which is no better or worse than close bolt--just different)

      money?

how much money would i have to put into this thing to get it running right if it is worn out. I think 500 would be a little much but 100-200 would be alright. Where can i go to see a diagram of how to take this gun apart so i can inspect it in the store. And can i fire co2 through it from a remote to see if it fires correctly. What would i be looking for if its worn out. Judging from other posts i may need my micrometer. jk

usually a few bucks for some lube At most 15 for a parts kit. Mags are VERY durable. Most other costs will be upgrades or if the mag has parts missing or has something totally wrong with it then mb. Though mags are made out of stainless steel, so it is kind of hard to hurt them.

          sweet

thanks for all your help guys. I am kinda excited about this gun. I hope i can buy it, maybe i can get him down a little. I am sure if i make the purchase i will be on here asking all sorts of questions.

Also i know this has been covered but i may not have got the most recent info. Automags have the same range and accuracy as any other gun right. What is dialed in. And i still need a site of how to take these things apart.

          thanks guys.

yep, they'll shoot just as far and just as accurate as every other marker. No marker will increase or decrease side-side accuracy nor increase or decrease range (the only thing that changes range is velo)

dialed in...as in with the velocity set right

            heres the broken down diagram:

remove the field strip screw and the whole valve assemby will come right out

it shouldnt cost more than $10-15 to make it work, a parts kit at most. Only tool is a 1/8" allen key. Worst comes to worst, ever, you send it in to AGD and they fix her right up for you.

            hope this helps!
