    New X-Mag problem

I just got my new X-Mag on Friday and I have run into issues.

As soon as I got it, I hooked everything up, gassed it, and proceeded to dry fire it. I fired it about 1000 times. Several times I heard the Level 10 kick in a few times, which was wierd since I am dry firing it. I took the bolt out and noticed alot of scarring on the bottom lip of the bolt and on the inside of the body. I lightly oil it and placed it back in.

I then take it down to the field, throw the warp feed on and proceed to shoot paint in it. My velocity is all over. But then I get it fine tuned. But the gun is double feeding and such and I am breaking paint all over. I figured it was my warp rotation was set fairly high and was forcing the balls in harder than the detent could hold it in.

I place the jumpers in the warp to slow it down, I clean up the marker and breaches. I look at the bolt again and the bolt is all scratched up as well as the inside. More so than before.. I put it all back together and dry fire it some more and now the bolt is failing to reset and just stays stuck out in the full shot position. the only way I can reset it is to force it back. It takes a good amount of pressure to push it back in and can feel it scraping on the body. I immediately degas and go home.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the issue here besides the double feeding which I am contributing to the warp? I can post some pictures of the bolt and the inside of the body when I get home.

My immediate response is to check the warp breach and see if it is fitting properly.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I figured that as well, so I removed the breach and the bolt still sticks. It is like the bottom lip of the bolt is sticking to the front of the body when it makes its full shot rotation and the spring does not have enough pressure to push it back since it is jammed.

Ok here are the pictures to express my concern. They are 1600x1200 pictures to show detail, so they are about 700k in size.

Please, if any techs are out there, do I need to send this in to get this fixed?

First Picture shows the bolt stuck after firing.

Second & third picture shows the inside of the body.

Forth picture shows the bottom lip of the bolt

You can see the substancial(sp?) scraping of the bolt on the body. Please techs, can you suggest anything? I only had this marker for less than 3 days.

            Try this:

Remove the PT tip and pull out the carrier w/ o-ring and then put the PT tip back on. Put the bolt on the valve w/o the spring and put it back in the gun. With the breech off, you should be able to tilt the gun and get the bolt to move back and forth. Get the bolt out into the breech enough that you can pinch it with your fingers and move it back and forth. If you can feel it dragging on the body, you have an issue with the body I.D. tolerance.

The only other thing would be the sear plunger is way out of alignment. If you take off the body and then the left grip, you can then take off the E-Clip on the solenoid plunger. Take out the sear assembly by lifting up on the backside of it and then up. Measure from the top of the arm on the sear down to the bottom of the plunger. It should be 3.005" Be sure to take out the sear axle pin before you take off the body.

I tried that. It seems to slide fine. I will look into the measurement of the sear assembly tomorrow.

Something is definately out of alignment. Since the gun is new, this is a problem you might want to have addressed at AGD.

Dont know if it was suggested before.... is it possible the bolt itself was not milled down correctly? having too big of a diameter?

try removing the valve, and pushing JUST the bolt into the body, and see if it jams up by itself. if it does, try another bolt that you KNOW is good. if just the X's bolt jams, bad bolt. if both do, bad body.
