ello. I have just recently gotten a 68 automag, A minimag to be exact, that hasn't been used in around 10 years now. I was just wondering, as I know that I have to change the O-Rings in the gun, exactly how I would go about getting to them, and changing them, without me screwing everything up. Also, what else should I do? I know polishing the barrels, and probably oiling the insides of the gun (Of which, can't I just dry fire it with 5-6 drops in the CO2 attacher 15-20 times?) Also, the reason why, is because I just bought a 20 oz CO2 tank, and it has a "slight" leak. I'll be dropping in to the chat room in about an hour and a half to get some help if nothing comes here by then. Thanks alot!

It's actually pretty easy to do a complete rebuild, you just need to have the parts. De-gas the marker with the trigger held back (this will keep the on-off pin from sticking down) and then you can remove the field strip screw and take the entire vale assembly off the marker. Then you can just refer to this handy PDF file (courtesy of the Airgun Designs Store:
The pictures also list the part numbers in case you find something specific that needs replacing, but for the most part, you can just order 2 replacement parts kits (1 for the rebuild and 1 in case you need more parts later) and you will have pretty much everything you will need for routine maintenance. Here's the parts kit:
For routine oiling, just put a drop or two of oil into the ASA before you put on your tank. This should pretty much be all you need for a full day of playing. You will want to take you barrel off when you dry fire so you don't get oil inside the barrel.
Orignal AutoMags run fine on CO2 (although now N2 is usually preferred); however, you will need to make sure you are using some sort of expansion chamber and/or an anti-siphon CO2 tank. Basically, Mags hate liquid CO2, so you don't want to feed it any (it will make your velocity inconsistent and spike high, can make the valve freeze up, and tends to ruin your freshly replaced o-rings).
