Im on my 3rd battery...seems like these things just dont last long. My first went bad in about 6 months, and second died in 1 month. Is this a known thing for these batteries to be terrible? Or maybe it is a charger thing? I mean come on...those batteries are not cheap!
Whats up with Emag batteries going bad fast?

How long are you charging them?
Facts I know about E-Mag batteries:
1) The light lies.
2) A 4-6 hour charge is good. Longer than that and it'll kill the cells. -

My battery is about 4 years old and still going strong. Check your charger.
Does the battery get hot while charging? It shouldn't. That would mean it is overcharging. Overcharging is hard on the cells.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment

Check the output from the charger. Put the test leads on the two posts on the charger and see what the output voltage is. It should be about 20-25V.Comment

25.4 out of the charger, battery is at 19.58 after a few hours of charging.
::update:: I have a homemade power hack to run the warp and rev from the emag battery (battery issue existed long before this). I have no air to see how many shots I can get, but I got 4,000 turns of the warp feed before "low battery" flashed. The warp is set up to do 1/3-1/4 turn on each pull. This is WITHOUT the emag firing, just turning the warp, there's not air in the gun. This still seems like it's dying too fast, because it'll obviously drain faster when the gun is on becase it'll be moving the 'noid as well as the warp. I quit after 5,000 cycles, and the battery is at 15.9 volts. Not enough to cycle the gun if it were aired up. I won't get to test how many shots I'm getting until NEXT week, unfortunately, but we'll see.Last edited by shadow462; 10-11-2003, 09:03 PM.Comment
