Slide check???

I'm having a problem with removing my valve, because of pressure built up in the line, even after i turn my tank off. I think a slide check will help this, but I dont know what a slide check really does . any info would be great. thanks

well slide check can get rid of the pressure in your valve and line after you take your tank off so you dont have your valve shooting across half the room. basicly you shut off your tank by turning off the on/off or you unscrew your tank and you press the slide check/ proconnect/ quick disconnect and it releases the built up pressure, it helps a ton and might even be easier if you put the slide check on the valve so you dont have hte valve connected to your line (if its set up like that)

just get a straight macro fitting, then connect that to the slide check, then use a 90* elbow to the valve.

set up like this.

tank, macro fitting 90*, macro line, straight macro, slidecheck, 90* elbow, valve...

If you are using marcoline why do you need a QD to relieve pressure? I used to just take off the macroline before messing with my valve

Level 10 setup keep more pressure in the line than level 7 setups. Some sort of bleed is much nicer on a level 10 setup. I'm not sure what he's running.

Using quick disconnects and/or slide checks should also increase the life span of your macroline.

If you haven't decided yet, this was recommended to me by BlackVCG. An AGD Quick Disconnect. It does exactly what you want. And it weighs less than a pro connect or slide check. Better made too. I'm very happy with mine.

A quick disconnect is not the same as a bleed. With residual pressure in a level 10 setup it can be very difficult or impossible to get take off a QD. Some sort fo safe bleed is a much better option.

I don't understand.. can I unscrew my asa's on/off and take off the quick disconnect with air still in the line/valve with the agd one? That doesnt make sense why can you do it with that one and not with any others?
