AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
ohhhhh well yea if I fire one shot too it'll do it :P
I'm looking for something to be able to take off my tank to get it refilled without having to give my whole gun to the airsmith. A slide check I've read is good but some people say after awhile it might interfere with the flow of air if you put it before the valve? Any truth to this? I saw someone got a sort of T elbow.. and put the slide check on one side.. and the macroline flowing into the valve on the other.. but I dunno if thats worth all the trouble
thanks everyone for answering my question. I have the lvl 10, and it does have a significant amount of residual pressure left in the line after I turn off the tank. Even after I fire a shot off, it holds 300psi in the line. I would just use the qd on s/s braided lines, but since I am sticking to macro, I am going for qd, slide check, on macro.
Maybe I will go with the qd and s/s braided lines. I guess this hasn't helped me decide. But you did answer my question!
Thanks again
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
I am not sure what you want to do. You want to be able to remove your tank from the gun completely to just get the tank filled? If you have a screw-in tank then just unscrew the tank and the line bleeds itself. If you dont have a screw in then either a slide check or pro-connect would work fine but they both leave the line to the tank under pressure (unless you install them backwards in order to bleed the line to the tank and keep pressure on the valve). you can always remove any remaining pressure in the line by leaving the tank off, removing the line from the valve, and opening the slide check to bleed the line to the tank.
The slide check will not restrict (sp?) the flow of air to any noticable degree. A back player on my team uses one on his E-mag and it rips.
Pro-connects are very nice as they bleed the valve and work as a quick disconnect all in one plus they have a smaller diameter then a slide check but they cost more $$. I have pro-connects on both of my e-mags.
that wont solve your problem. the slidecheck is designed to bleed the gun and leave the tank and hoses gased up, so it will be jsut as hard to unscrew with one as not.
take a look at the picture of the slide check above. when the slide is pulled back, it seals the air into the side that has the tank, and vents the gun.
he could install it backwards to bleed the line to the tank, just need to get the proper fittings to hook it up.
Or set it up normally, turn the tank off, bleed valve, slide the slide check back on, bleed, repeat until the pressure is down. This is what I do (with a pro connect but slide check would work the same) in order to disconnect the macro line.
Alright I did what bulldog suggested and got the q/d just like hes got set up on his gun with macro. It works perfect with 400psi still in the valve its not hard at all to disconnect. So screw a slide check Ide say. Thanx for everyones replies.
