I don't think this post should be in Deep Blue. Someone move this to the tech forum...

Agreed but bewarned everyone that I move these without leaving a link to them when I find them in Deep Blue.

If you want backspin there are easier ways than installing that rubber mount. The most success I have had so far is using a large bore barrel and using a band-aid in the barrel to create the backspin. It only takes a piece about a 1/2 inch square stuck in the inside of the barrel at the top just after where the ball feed is.

The problem is that if you have a paint break it gets slippy so the amount of backspin changes, and if you chrono with this in the barrel and it blows out then you will be firing hot.

There's gotta be a way though.

I've been trying to work on a fitting which replaces the nubin and uses the same mount to include a rubber plate top dead center to create backspin.. but havn't perfected that yet.

I've also been testing some funky porting ideas ( with ping pong balls and plastic tubes ) to try and use pressure created by the balls movement to exert backward force on the top of the ball and forward force on the bottom of the ball but I'm not having much luck with that so far.

What if you had a Micromag body drilled and threaded at the top and then put in the Galacticz skid pad? I wonder if that would work since Micromags have threaded barrels, sounds like a project for Doc's machine shop or Palmer!!
