Pyro, in a way it should be the other way around, if your gun cant shoot at around that level, then maybe your gun should be checked by AGD. There are many players here with Mags that can shoot at a rate of 10 bps, Im a little slow, but I have not seen any shootdown at my 8 bps finger. Dont you think that if the stock valve was limited to 6 bps, then the Mags would be the joke on the field. I know by your number of posts, you are definitely not a newb here, but your opinions concern me.

You do have a point, the Hyperframes are limited to 13 bps in its program. But then again, it isnt that hard to convince Centerflags to change the programming to allow 16 bps, especially if its gonna be used and demonstrated on a new revolutionary hopper (I bet that HALO video did get more Hyperframe customers).

The reason Im getting one, is to first and foremost, reduce the length and effort of my pulls. When I shoot fast, my twitching finger throws off my gun's aim. Second reason being to eliminate short stroking. Most of the time when I short stroke, 2 balls burp out, but there are times when the balls just break all together.

This should defineitely help my game.

I agree with you here, I really dont think anyone needs to shoot that damn fast? Have you seen the new HALO videos with the Emag? The one where its set at 18 bps? Its fricken insane !!! You have got to really have some sort paintball impedement if you need that much damn firepower to play a game.

I play back and when I shoot a line at the beginning of a game I shoot as fast as I can for at least two or three seconds. As I'm hoping that someone is going to run into my line of paint the smaller the space between balls the less likely it is that someone will be able to run through it. If it were possible I'd have a solid stream of paint thet no one could run through no matter how fast they were.

This also is important later in the game when I try to eliminate players who are running to new bunkers.

Do I NEED more than 10 or so bps? No. Would it help? Of course.

As far as the e-frames go, I don't know that I'd be able to shoot them any faster then I can shoot my Retro. I was able to shoot a Shocker quite fast but I still don't think it was faster then my Retro so I personaly wouldn't invest in the e-frame.

well i guess i dont need to shoot 13 and i never used to until i got the frame(i could only get around 7 with the stock gripframe and i did ok) but it does help when playing with other electro guns that easily shoot 13 also. If i played against the same people only shooting 7-8 i would be at a great disadvantage(see where im going with this). No i do not suck just because i shoot fast(say that to tourny players that they dont belong in the sport because they shoot fast). 13 bps doesnt only mean that it also means if i pop up for .25 of a second(im exagerating to get a point across, i cant really do this im not superman) i can get off 3-4 balls which is great for snapshooting and rof is good for cover fire too. I am not going up there a full second and spanking the trigger 13 times to hit someone, but it is nice that if i have to its there.

This is turning into a "How fast can a valve shoot without shootdown" lets get back to the main topic shall we? I would say that the Mako Elcd frames are not worth it because I have heard that alot of the old boo-yaah frames had not worked very well, and I have only heard of 1 or 2 boo-yaah frames that worked good on a mag. So if I were you I would get a hyperframe.

I am probably wrong but shootdown is when the gun is firing faster than the valve can cycle.

Shootdown is where you are shooting so fast, that the gun can recharge itself with the right amount of gas. When this happens, you will notice that the balls SHOOT more DOWNwards than usual.

For instance, lets say that the valve can only recycle at 10 bps, you get firing and then get a lil excited and start shooting at 12 bps instead. Since you are shooting faster than the limit of the valve, it will not be able to recharge/refill its Air chamber. It will probably fill with only 90% or 80%, which will mean that the ball will proportionatly travel only 90% or 80% of its intended flight.

According to Tom (the guy who makes the AutoMag), the AIR valve will start to have shoot down at aprox. 10 bps. The Retro/RT valve will start to have shoot down at 26 bps (not that anyone could shoot this fast, they used a computer to fire the gun).

With extream shoot down the ball will just barely roll out the end of the barrel. More likely you would just notice a loss in distance after a few balls into a string. If you stop shooting for even a second, the air chamber will completely recharge and your next ball will shoot normaly.

Electric Frames... personal experience.

I have an old minimag (SN# 15xx) that sat around from 1995 to 2001, with only one venture out in 2000 that included a lookover by an airsmith and a parts kit. We used to play tourney level together! LOL. This gun has never given me trouble and easily keeps up with my slow fingers (~6-8 bps)

I am taken with the paintball bug again, so decided to try some upgrades. I found a Hyperframe for $200 on ebay and got it. Now all the non-semi modes are limited to 10bps, but I was getting shootdown. I upgraded to N2 and the problem lessened somewhat, as I could should 10bps for a couple second before the shootdown.

I upgraded to a retro-valve that I found on the boards for $175. Now I have no shootdown problems anymore!!!

As for the Hyperframe, I love it. It has an awesomely small trigger pull length, and all you have to do is breath on it to make it fire.

I have been considering upgrading my RT Pro to a Mako. Boo Yaah kinda left us and clouds the product, but Mako is the original manufacturer. You can find them for under $175 on the web, and while the manufacturing quality of the Mako may not be as high as the Hyperframe, it does offer higher rates of fire and a full automode.
