x-valve issue can anyone help??

I just upgraded my old level 7 automag to an x-valve
I have a benchmark 45 two finger frame.
when I turn on the air the gun doesn't sound or feel like it "cocks" and a trigger pull does nothing...the trigger pin doesn't even look like it moves forward when i turn on the gas...any suggestions??

crank up the velocity adjuster on the back of the x valve

ok turned it up about 4 full turns clockwise and there is no difference.
