    Trouble. :(

I have had some small problem with my minimag, and I am wondering if it is user error, or if my gun has a problem.

    1. Whenever I rapid fire my gun tends to break paint. I have a revy (12 volt) and everything, but I still get breaks when I rapid fire. Could this be from short stroking? Off the subject a bit, this also used to happen to my M98 when I rapid fired, but I havent used that since I got my mag.

    2. My trigger gets "sticky". A lot of the time when I shoot the trigger doesn't come all the way back (well not the trigger, but that pin that is connected to the sear. I don't know the exact name), and it vents air and stuff like when you short stroke. I always keep it well oiled, but it still does it. Could this be a problem with the sear? It is a bit scratched, but not hammered or anything like that.

    3. Could these two problems be linked, or have anything to do with the bolt? Also, the part that the bolt sits on ( I don't know the name of that piece either),the part that it is on when it is al the way back, is kinda scratched, they are fairly deep scratches too. Could this be the problem?

I just bought a boo-yaah today, will this solve some problem or just create new ones? Should I send my gun to AGD for inspection and repair? Should I get my trigger frame profesionally installed? Thanks for your time, and please help.

Most likely you are short stroking the trigger, this used to happen to me until I learnt the trigger. You have to completely pull it back every time. If you arent short stroking I dont know how you could brake paint unless it was bad. The revvy can keep feeding up to about 12bps I beleive.

      1. Make sure you have the new pf plugs.
      2. Make sure the paint is sized right. If it is 2 small the first ball will roll forward and the second ball will get pinched in between and the bolt will chop it.
3 Bad brittle paint will cause breaks.

Try these things out or for now slow down your ROF. When you get used to the trigger better then try to speed it up and see if the breaks still occur. Good Luck

This is the forum for trouble shooting your Airgun Designs products, including the Automag, RT, E-Mag, and WarpFeed. Also a great place to ask technical questions about non AGD products. An Airsmith's homeroom!

Maybe someone tried to do a trigger job on the gun and messed with the trigger rod (the little rod on back of the trigger that dosent come back all the way). That would cause lots of problems, those rods are not to be touched from AGD. But peopel sometimes think "lemme do a cool trigger job and screw with the rod". Check it out, i dont know what the proper length is supposed to be. If it still does it call AGD and get an RA# and send it in for a checkup. They will make it SING!
