    What to look for..

    I'm getting a used minimag, but I'm new to mags, What should I look over when I get it, any parts I should check out and such? Thanks for reading this.

    You can check to see if the bolt and sear edges are worn, other than that just shoot the thing.

      I would also say, just look for any signs of obvious abuse or attempts to alter the parts (i.e., milling, drilling, etc...). Barring that, for the cost of a repair kit, which contains mostly o-rings and a reg seat, you can pretty much rebuild the valve completely in just a few minutes. So if it basically works, but leaks a little, or is a bit inconsistent in velocity, you can feel pretty good about buying it and just use the parts kit to get everything going smoothly again.

        Yeah, some shmuck milled down the back of my valve to fit a tounrnement lock on there, so now it looks wierd, but doesn't adversly affect it.
