    Mag won't cycle

I was testing out my new 68 micro - with the AIR valve and powerfeed - and everything was going swell. Then, while I was trying to chrono, the mag stopped firing. I can't get it to cycle all the way through - it won't recock itself.

    Two questions:
A)Is this a symptom of not enough oil?

B)Is this a repair that I could perform on my own?

Please, I am open to any and all sugestions/solutions. I am mechanically inclined so please feel free to be technical.

PS: I shot my mag back to back with my cocker and I like the way the mag shoots ... it just can't move as much paint as my stock '03 cocker. What would be a good way to rectify this "problem"?
Mag ... it just sounds badass.

    Well, first couple of things-

    Level 10?

    CO2 or Nitro?

any aftermarket parts? Regs, trigger frames, etc?

CO2 w/remote ... Nitro to come in a week or so.

No Level 10 ... yet. Will be installing X valve when Nitro is purchased.

The only "aftermarket" part would be the Benchmark .45 frame, but that is standard equipment on the Pro Team Products mags. This is a bone stock PTP 68 Micromag with the HL powerfeed.

I played two games with the mag before switching to the cocker. Then, I went back to the mag, fired 6 shots, and it refused to cycle. Tank was fresh, valve never got cold during the games. It's a completely random seizure.

Do you shoot and the trigger still has pressure but nothing happens when you pull it?
Does it shoot then just leak? If you stick somthing down the barrel and force the bolt back does that stop the leak? If it does your bolt spring is probably shot.

When I pull the trigger the bolt only moves part of the way, the gun makes a sad sound, and then the trigger gets sloppy - no pressure behind it. Although, it doesn't sound like it's leaking.

I push the bolt back and it moves maybe 4 milimeters.

It was shooting at 290-301 all day, then nothing.

Give the valve a good cleaning. That will allow you to inspect the o-rings at the same time.

Failure to recock is usually a bolt stick problem. This is usually a symptom of a worn bolt spring or a powertube spacer that is too short.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

The bolt is not going all the way back, hence it is not sealing, but he has no leak, this means the on-off is stopping the pressure. But when the trigger is foward the on-off should be open which would cause a leak down the barrel.
Does this mean his problem is somewhere in the reg, improperly put together on-off, air lines, or in the tank reg? Or am I just forgetting somthing obvious.

If the bolt sticks forward then it will hold the sear down and the on/off pin in the "off" position. The trigger will be loose. No air will leak out the front.

This sounds a classic case of bolt stick to me.

As Daysping mentioned earlier, does it have a level 10 bolt? If it does, what size spring is in use. Is the carrier the correct size (one size smaller than the one that leaks)?

If it is a level 7 bolt, check the bolt spring. If the bolt spring is long enough (~ 1/4" past the tip of the bolt) then check the powertube spacers. Use a longer one.
