    Stars?

My mag doesnt have any stars, it's serial # is CF18114. Is this really old or something? So I was wondering if I would still be covered under warrenty if something did break. The reg and valve are matching serial numbers and its all the stock parts. So does anybody know if I'd have good chances of being covered?

We no longer provide free warranty service for older Classic, 68AutoMag, and Minimag valves without stars located on the valve. If a starless valve comes in (this includes valves with stars but have aftermarket reg halves which include ANS Phase II regulators, PMI Perfect Charger regulators, Diamond Labs 8-hole mod regulators, and etc.), we will contact the customer to arrange payment before beginning repair work. In other words: No Star, No Warranty. We will consider exceptions for valves where both halves have matching serial numbers and our records show the valve has never before received repairs.

Yup. They didn't start engraving stars on the valves until recently. I'd Call up Tech on monday and see what they say.

Although, let's see what's wrong with it here. Maybe we can save you the $ and valve trip.

Usually if you have no stars they will check if the valve has been in for service before. If it hasn't they may make an acception to the $40 rebuild fee.

if i still have stars on mine, but i don't think anything is wrong with it, can i send it in just to have it checked up? i used to take it apart and play around with it when i was younger, and i was probably stupid and messed something up.

so yah, i wouldn't mind wasting a star on just a checkup or something... lol ... is that possible?

if so, what is the process for sending a gun in? or do i just send the valve?

          minimag:
          -dye 14" ss barrel
          -dye 12" ultralite
-expansion chamber (i like it as a foregrip)
          -steel braided hoses
          -45/3000 preset pure energy
          -eclipse mini drop
          -vl revvy w/ xboard
          -check-it on/off unimount
          -----future upgrades-------
          -xvalve
          -intelliframe
          -ule frame black

spyder xtra (for friends to use):
          -sp 14" teardrop

          next gun:
          -macdev sonic cyborg
          or
          -powerlyte isis

If it works fine, then there's no need for a checkup.

And IF you ever send it in, call and get a RA# from tech and then you send the entire gun.

If say you needed a new reg seat and you had stars, would they charge you fir the seat? or is the star an automatic free repair?

It would cost you more to send the gun in than it would be to spend the $1 and buy a new reg seat...
And they dont charge you for soft parts (o-rings, and reg seats), but you pay for bolts, sears, that stuff.
