Bolt spring making a "ping" noise

ok, i dont know if this is new or not, but i was playing with my mag, dry firing, and i took the spring and put it on the bolt (the way that is easy) and i pressured up my mag, and i shot...It made a pretty loud 'ping' noise everytime i shot. So i went back to the spring and flippedit around, this time it went on the bolt a little harder, but when i went to gas up my gun, the ping was gone...anyways, this is probably of little importance but just thought you'd like to know!

oh and i have a 68' automag, classic valve, with long nose extended bolt. And with all the talk about breaking nubbins, just thought i should tell you i've never broken a nubbin with my long nose bolt.

    cyas later!

Maybe it was because the spring wasn't fully seated onto the bolt? I think that it is tighter at the base of the bolt.

i truly hate that ping but it is normal i had a thread on it a while ago. My long nose bolt hasnt broken any nubbins yet either(knocks on wood).
