    stock minimag shootdown question

For the first time since I bought the gun I actually got to fire it today!! I must say I was impressed and there were no chopped balls. It is an all stock, level 7 minimag. The only aftermarket part I have on it is a zbody, which is pretty fun to play around with. To get speed on the ball I had to turn the spin almost off on the zbody though, now it floats and has power! I am running a 3000psi hpa setup. But to my question:
I can shoot 2, sometimes 3, shots in a row with no shootdown. However, if I try to shoot 5 in order the 4th one falls short and the 5th just plops out of the gun. I want to know if this is normal? I will be upgrading to a xvalve shortly, but I wanted to know this about the old valve. With the new x valve, at what point does shootdown occur? Thanks for helping this mag noob out again, everyones input has helped me out alot so far.

First make sure you are fully pulling and releasing the trigger. If you are it could be a reg seat.

You won't be able to experience shoot down on the X-Valve W/ a mechanical frame I think it occurs around 26 or 32 bps. If the problem is short stroking, that's something you'll have to work on yourself!

Hmm, you need dial calipers to check the size of your reg seat

How old is your minimag? Check to see if the on/off top is the old style with the X on one end. The on/off top sits in the on/off hole with the X oriented towards the outer edge of the valve. If it is in backwards, it will cause shootdown problems.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
