yet another "twist lock assembly problem" thread

I have searched through other threads, but none of them have helped so far:

I am trying to take out the twist lock assembly to put a ULE body on my RTP. I have hammered it from the bottom, and I even tried from the top, but the thing just won't come out. Do I have to wind up and smack this thing as hard as I can, or what?

    Any help is appreciated,

Also, just to clarify, I'm supposed to hit it from the bottom of the rail (as in by the foregrip), not the top (as in where the body sits), right?

Is there some way to make it come out easier? I've tried putting some marker oil around it which didn't work, but how about heating it up a bit? Any other suggestions?

Is there anyway to put the twist lock assembly back IN the rail after its taken out?

Yeah, the same way you got it out. It needs to be pressed in there, you might be able to do it with a beanch vise or somthing.

Well, I finally got that bugger out this morning. It was in their good!

I had to give up last night, as the people in the apartment under me started banging on the ceiling for making too much noise. This morning I won the battle, but it won't be fitting into any rail anytime soon.
