    CO2 vs. HPA

I have been wondering this for some time now... what is the best way to set up my mag to switch off between co2 and hpa? Due to where I live, the only place to get hpa filled is at my "local" field, 45 minutes away. I play often but my friends and I cannot always go to the field so i must use co2, which i can get filled 5 minutes from my house. Right now i am have a benchmark 6 stage exp chamber to keep my reg from freezing, but i leave it on when I can use hpa. Will this affect the flow of air? I have noticed a small amount of drop off, but it is the same as co2. What is the best set up for my situation?

My suggestion, albeit not a cheap one, is to replace the x-chamber with a regulator. Use a Palmer Stabilizer, a Bob Long Torpedo, or a Check It! Powerstation as they like both CO2 and HPA. Also make sure your CO2 tank is anti-siphoned if not already.

Or run a remote line. It's really hard to pull liquid co2 through a 36" straw...

thanks, i tried a remote and i hated it. I got it tangled around my arm, it was terrible. My tank is anti-siphoned aleady. Where can i get my hands on a palmer stabalizer for a good price?

It won't hurt you to run air through the x-chamber. On the other hand running air through a reg isn't a very good idea.

I would think that as long has you have a reg that has a good recharge time and has an output pressure higher than the reg on the valve you shouldn't have a problem.

sorry for the double post, but just thought about this one...

if you're running HPA you already have a second reg in line.

If you have another reg with HPA you have three regs which may be too much. If you want to spend the $80 on a palmer stabalizer and gameble it working or not nooone is stopping you.

How about just a gas thru grip? No restriction for HPA, and some room for expansion for CO2. I suppose you might fill it with liquid CO2, but your hand would get very cold.

                  Its a much cheaper alternative.

he's better off staying with his anti-siphon and x-chamber.

                    hey fenix, here's a palmer for $50

I think he said he already had a decent X-Chamber, so I think his best bit is leaving it on there. Another thing he could get away with it getting a nice drop for when he runs N2, then using one of those things they put in the bottom of the vert adapter so you can put a hose through instad of putting the bottle right in there he could just screw the remote hose into there and screw that into his drop. So he now has the best of both. Nice drop for N2 and a remote for Co2 that takes all of 30 seconts to go between the two.
