    Is this normal?

I just got an RTP straight from AGD and out of the box it rocked. I started to break lvl. 10 and messed around with it to understand more on how it works.

I finally got it shooting well and perfectly, after different combinations of carriers, shims and springs. I am using the carrier with no lines or dots, 2 shims, and the smallest spring. Is this normal? I remember reading that 2 or 1.5 is around the average.

I also wanted to use the medium spring, since it's a balance of effeciency and softness, but it won't work if I use it. With the medium spring, it will shoot, but every other time. With the longest spring, it doesn't shoot at all.

I just hope that lvl. 10 doesn't break in anymore, because I cannot go down one more size for the oring. Any feedback would be great.

You know from my 3 guns with the lvl 10, they all did different things. My RT Classic and RT Pro both use the medium spring and the smaller end of the carriers, while my SFL had the longest spring and a larger carrier. It does break in a little but once you get the first 5000 rounds or so out, it gets pretty consistant. The lvl10 is one of those odd upgrades that does not seem to have a special combo; you just make it work for your gun and that's what matters.

Have you tried using a larger carrier w/ one of the longer springs? You're right, using the smallest carrier is pretty odd.

Yeah, I've used a larger carrier (1) and spring also. The carrier was too loose and it was leaking purty badly. With the longer spring it just wouldn't fire at all, with whatever carrier I had.

I wonder if that is because of the oring?

*Edit* What I meant by the last comment was, is it because of the bolt or the oring that is causing me to use the smallest size carrier?

The o-ring is what determines what carrier you should use. You said you used the #1 carrier, #.5 would be the next larger one, no lines but just dots.

I used 1, but it leaked badly. I tried .5 and still leaked. I used 0 and it works just great. Oh well, I guess it's just weird.

              you may know this, but...

be sure to use the same o-ring when changing carriers. swap it out and into the next smaller carrier.
...but there's an "I" in SNIPER.
