    Slide Check

How do you turn off the air flow with a slide check. Down lets air through, but when i pull it up, it shoots air out the bottom. Im not sure how to work it.

Does it continue to shoot out air? It's designed to bleed out all the air of the line when switched off. Try it again and don't shut it off for a second. If air blows out pretty steadily for a few seconds you have a problem with your slidecheck.

It's possible you have it hooked up backwards too. Do you have a pic of how you have it setup?

The slide check is screwed into a elbow that screws into my asa adapter in my cradle, then there is a line from the female end if the slide check to my q'd then to the valve. Yes, it contiues to blow out air when i pull it up.

If it only blows air when you slide the outside part it backwards. You should have it situated so you are pulling the slide part towards the air source.

You need to flip the slidecheck around. This may mean you have to relocate it closer to the air valve by flipping your hose assembly around. You'l still want to leave your QD were it is though (sticking out of the air valve).

You have the part of the slidecheck that stops the flow of air on the wrong side of the slidecheck that bleeds the air out of the line. So when you slide the collar it's bleeding the line with the air still flowing. If you flip it around it will stop the air flow and just bleed the air in the line. I hope to God that made sense.
