    Burping every 20-30 balls

Practiced with my emag today, and every 20-30 balls I get a burp, kind of like the lvl 10 is kicking in. It's consistent so I find i hard to bielieve that its the lvl 10 working though. I adjusted my pull with adding an o-ring to my top magnet, and it's much lighter now, I also moved the trigger magnet around a bit, could one of those things be the problem?

Middle spring, cut and installed by agd. Not sure what carrier, because AGD did it. No leaks at all, anywhere. I'll check on the shims now.

throw in another shim or clip about 1/8" of the already cut end of the spring off

I don't think that the magnets have anything to do with it. At really high rates of fire my emag does that too, I think it is b/c of the level 10, use the shorter spring or clip a little off the spring you are using, use a bigger carrier...

shims..they are supposed to make the bolt bounce off paint earlier, right? the more shims, the earlier it happens? can someone clarify what the shims do exactly? If there are no shims is the bolt less likely to vent/chuff with the larger spring??

Shims dictate how early the bolt can vent when stopped on something in the breach. For most applications, even a gun with no shims will vent properly.

Adding shims moves the o-ring closer to the vent hole while the bolt is at rest, held back by the sear. This means you can move the carrier o-ring back to the point where any movement of the bolt past the sear will cause air to vent out the vent hole in the event of a stoppage.

Chuffing may be caused by a stoppage of some other means. The spring may be too stiff for the chamber pressure/velocity you have set. The carrier may be too tight. A piece of debris may be interfering with the movement of the bolt.

One of the things you may want to take note of is the age of your bolt spring. They do wear out and become weaker as time goes by and you use the gun. A weakened return spring will cause a chuffing sound.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
