    Quick LX Question

My LX started a slight leak today. I have the 0 size carrier in currently with one shim and I am using the stock spring.

Add a shim, or remove a shim (or 2)? Or MAYBE even play with a bigger carrier? The 0 seems like a tight fit, and the .5 seems a little better, but either one has a small leak with one shim. Basically add or remove shims is my main question. THX!

    Take out all shims.

Use the biggest carrier that doesn't leak. Once you get that one, then you play with shims.

A 0 carrier is WAY tight. If you have to run that one, you're better off going and starting over with a new oring. Why? B/c if that oring starts to wear in anymore and leaks, you can't go down any further to fix it.

Best test- put the oring in the carrier. Dangle the bolt from the oring. If it sticks and doesn't move at all, too tight. If it falls right off, too loose. If it wiggles a bit then falls off, you got the right one.

      Thx Dayspring.

What exactly do you mean by dangle the bolt from the o-ring?

The .5 seems to be about the perfect fit... it slides well and has a little bit of play, but I have found that no matter what number of spacers I have in it, it starts to leak.

Like, I ended up with 3 spacers this morning and it was going good till about 50 shots later, then it started leaking again.

        Dangle.

Put bolt face down on table. Take carrier w/ oring. Slide carrier onto bolt stem, oring first. Lift and shake the bolt. (Not violently. Just gently)
