y-grip instalation on a minimag? help please

hey, i just got a y-grip for my minimag,no it looks real easy to install,
so i take apart m ygun down to the rail and everything is backwards in orderf or the grip to fit,the rail would have to be backwards, the front pin.that holds the barrlein and the front of the trigger frame steady is to small but the back one fits just fine.
i took the brass fitting from the back on trying to fit it on the front but it wont go on?
is there somthing i need to buy or what?
im at a tottal lose

You don't need to flip anything...

Take the old grip off. Put new one on in its place. Make sure that brass piece (the rail bushing) is in the back hole of the gripframe.
