Is it required to put that white tape (teflon?) on the gauges on my tank? Or would i be able to go without it for a fill without leaks?
Is it required to tape my fittings?

I'm not sure I'd try things that aren't specifically made for the task. Gambling again, it may work but what if it doesn't? You've wasted time, made a mess, and potential got something weird into your tank or guns internals. Not a gamble I would take considering that teflon tape is less than a $1!Comment

i saw this one newb with no teflon tape on his tippmann. (he had to do "maintence work" on his gun, so he said, and he took off the fittings, and the tape). i laughed so hard when he was baffled because his gun kept leaking from the fittings.... he had no idea!!!Yummy yummy yummy, I've got fun in my tummy.

one of my tanks has no sealent on the fill nipple. *shrug*
as long as the threads are clean, and you torque it down, you can get away with it. The threads are tapered for a reason.
you can get away with it. I wouldnt do that permanently. Its WAY easier to get a good seal using tape, there is no point in trying to do so without it. If you absolutely have to, you can go without, but thats not a good way to set it up.
just go buy some tape, or teflon dope, or something."The Fine Print: Discontinue use if your eyeballs suddenly get way smaller."Comment

Personally, I prefer thread sealer (not thread lock). Teflon tape can get brittle over time. A broken piece can cause strange occurances if it gets lodged in the internals of the gun.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment
