    classic vs. x-valve and ULE

I own a classic mag with hyperframe. The only problem I have with it is the weight. It is very heavy.

I am thinking about getting an x-valve and a ULE mainbody. Does anyone know what the weight savings would be for each peice? How much lighter is the x-valve than the classic and how much lighter is the ULE than the standard powerfeed mainbody? I just want to make sure it's worth it before I dish out $225 for the x-valve and another $150 for the mainbody.

Also, any other suggestions on making it lighter would be great.

    Thanks,
    Bryan

ule body is half the weight, plus twice the looks.

xvalve is half the weight, i think. and if ur hyperframe fails for somereason, you can pop on a mech frame and ull still have a fast gun.

i dont know your whole setup, but i know that if you have a steel nitro tank, then you have a heavy setup. my 48 3k steel tank weighs 4 lbs... im gettin a 45/45, which is around 1.5 lbs.

    use an aluminum barrel
get the new ULE rail when it comes out

    dont use warp
Yummy yummy yummy, I've got fun in my tummy.

Lots of info about weight in this thread:

          smee, thanks for the info.

Aegis, I read that thread and it made me even more confused. Smee said he thinks the x-valve weighs half what the classic does. But, in that thread some people are saying that you only gain 3 Oz. I know the classic valve weighs more than 6 Oz. And if you only gain 3 Oz, then it's not worth $225.00 and my classic valve trade in.

Does anyone know exact weight of the classic valve and the X valve?

What about the classic mainbody and the ULE body?

          thanks,

The X-Valve is around 8 oz. lighter than a classic or an RT Valve.

No, the x-valve is only 3 oz lighter than the classic valve, 8 oz would be half a pound. And yes while it doesn't sound like too much, between that, and the ule body, and a ule rail, it will make a significant difference in weight.
Sadly the mag is gone, moved on to an LCD Trix

The RT/Retro Valve is lighter than a classic - 2.6 ounces less. I forgot to get the weight from my xvalve.

Want to save the most weight? look at your tank and hopper. You can shave ounces with ULE parts, but you can save big in other areas. The Rico is very light compared to an Evo, let alone a Halo. As far as tanks, there is a very wide range in weight. The 68/3K flatline is cheap on the used market and weighs no more than a 45/45 screwin by the time you add in the ASA and drops.
