    Lvl 10 query

I am going to be getting a lvl 10 setup for my mag, as one of the first upgrades, escpecially with the free shipping and all, but i noticed that the actual upgrade kit is $85. i compared the price of buying all the parts listed on the lvl 10 guide here and i would be able to buy all the individual parts for $60.
the answer may seem obvious but which would you go with? does the kit come with sometihng special that i can't get here? does it come with spare parts other then the 2 extra springs? why should i pay $15 more for a kit over just the bundle of parts?

Good question. Are you sure you got all of the parts added in when you did it seperately? The bolt, 3 springs, 6-8 carriers, which you really only will need 4 or so, shims, powertube o-rings and a backing washer? Oh and the powertube tip and o-ring for that, oh well here's a pic to check off if you haven't seen it

maybe my parts list is lacking compared to what all i really need, but based on the parts list here on AO and the diagram i only need:
      1. Backing Washer
      2.Powertube O-Ring (x2)
      3. Carrier O-ring
      4. Carrier
      5. Shims (x2)
      6. Powertube tip
      7. Superbolt
      8. Main Spring (do i really need 3? or could i just get the normal one and cut it down as suggested on the airgun.com page?)

        just get the kit...

You can't just buy one carrier that will work, you need to test them all... get at least 3-4 if your deadset on doing it that way. 0, .5, 1, 1.5, 2 are the most common sizes, or the most useful in plugging a leak.

Springs too... if you cut your stock spring, it would be WAY too short... the shortest LX spring and the normal L7 spring are about the same size... Most people use the Middle spring, but if you can't get your velocity to go down, you need to go down a spring size... so you need at least two there...

It'll save you some headaches (and multiple orders if you forget something/need a bigger size of something) to just get the full kit. Used you can find them for 50-60, and that aint bad.
Hey Zero, how much did that Chipley cost ya?

            6 carriers - 0 - 2.5 ($3.00ea) = $18.00
            2 o-rings ($1.00 ea) = $2.00
            4 shims ($0.50ea) = $2.00
            backup washer = $0.50
            3 bolt springs ($3.00ea) = $9.00
            bolt = $40.00
power tube tip assy = $10.00

total parts = $81.50 and you don't get as many extra's as you do in the kit.

Get the kit. Its cheaper in the end, especially if you order it from a local PB store.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
