RT valve - bad reg piston?

More often than not I have to play around with my RT valve on my E-mag in order to get my gun to gas up properly. And I was wondering if this was a sign of a bad reg piston, like I'm thinking.

When I gas up, my gun vents out the back of the valve like mad. And I know what you're thinking, "the velocity is too high". IT'S NOT. I only play indoor at 250fps and I don't mess with it once I have it right. (maybe magic elves in my gun turn it up at night when I'm asleep?).

It will do this regardless of whether I hold the trigger down when I gas up or not. Right now, I get around the problem by taking an allen and working the velocity screw back and forth for a few seconds, after which, the gun will usually gas up with no problem.

    Any ideas????

On a side note, I play in emode. But I try to chrono like an RT in manual mode. My first shot in manual mode when coming off electronic always shoots at about 80-100fps, all subsequent shots jump back up to 250. Would this be tied into my problem above, or is it an entirely different problem?

maybe something wrong with an o-ring? Try taking apart your vavle and just check if anything is wrong.

Check your reg seat condition, but yes. The reg piston is shot if it's venting at that low a velocity.

Yeah, I figured as much, my gun is older (e-mag #235) and the piston probably wasn't made with the level 10 in mind (a look at AGD's online store confirms this).

I think I'll just replace the reg piston and get an RT parts kit and do an overhaul.

had similar issue, after LX reg piston had to be replaced. Leaking on air-up was cured by install of an RT kit.

is it leaking out of the velocity adjuster or the top of the valve?

top: o-ring on reg. pin assy.

            velocity: 3 possibilites

            1. bad reg seat o-ring

            2. bad reg piston o-ring

            3. bad reg piston

it's leaking out of the velocity adjuster.

I've ordered a new reg piston and parts kit. I'm looking forward to replacing the reg seat too, cause my velocity has been all over the place.

Can't wait to get my valve straightened out, put my warp RIGHT ule body on and get my warp hooked up with the 12v mod. Maybe then I'll be ready to come back after the couple month break I'm on.

I had this problem on my SFL E-mag, then I decided to put 4 drops of oil down the macroline. 500 shots later and it works without leaking. =)

Try that and see if it works.

I had the same problem when I got my EMag and I just switched the reg piston and everything has been fine since.
