Chrome Minimag and Smart Parts Magic Box

Not long ago I bought a minimag. It had a smart parts magic box on it. The guy was running 400psi. How much should it be? I know its less then 800psi because it is supposed to reduce the pressure i.e. Low pressure. Thanks

The magic box is just an expansion chamber. You still need the same pressure.

it's not really an expansion chamber... though it was...

it's a piece of pipe that was added to the side of the valve after the regulator, increasing the size of the dump chamber and allowing the primary reg to operate at about 50 psi less than usual (around 300). it lowers your efficiency by 15-20%, and has no appreciable performance gains.

AAs used to point the marker down and let it fill with liquid CO2, to get hot shots.

Your input should be higher than 400, and most people run about 800. though if you're not having trouble...

The input reg is not the actual pressure going into the marker, as a mag has a built-in reg. but we've long ignored the "LP" hype, since only 100 psi or so ever hits the ball in ANY gun.

Ball in a mag sees 65psi.

          yup yup

and the magic box just rapes your mage of efficentcey

and if he was running 400 psi into the valve... thats BS... maybe 400 psi after the integrated regulator - which all automags work at

Seriously, he was running at 400 psi. When I got the gun I shot it at 400psi. It was a max-flo regulator set to 400psi with a gauge on it. So I know it was 400, because I shot it with it at 400psi

in that case he disabled the AIR and just used his maxflo for the velocity adjustment. still rendering the black box usless.....

nope, the air regulator was up and running, nothing disabled.
