Does AGD reccomand an after market barrel? If so, what? I have an 12" Smart Parts all american barrel now.

AGD gernerally doesn't recomend aftermarket parts but for a good reason. AGD products and made for each other and after market parts are made to fit AGD products. I know there was some problems with some barrels matching up in the body right but if you want and I recomend an aftermarket barrel read the reviews on it at pbreview.

you must be joking me.... an aftermarket barrel is a must have. AGD doesnt recommend aftermarket parts besides barrels, hoppers, tanks, drops, forgrips, etc. make sure you know what ur talking about, argnot, before you say anything

I have a 12" J&J ceramic and a 12" J&J Staiuless steel and I'm Very happy with the both of them. I have NEVER had a problem with them hindering a ball feed and I find the two to be very accurate. The nice feature with the ceramic barrel is thet it is teflon impregnated, wich means that when they manufacture the ceramic coating teflon is added to the mix (i think that's how it's done). Anyway regardless of how it is made the teflon makes the inside surface of the barrel extremely slick and as a result the barrel will shoot clean within 2-3 shots tus eliminating the need for a squeegie.

An aftermarket barrel is always my first upgrade. If you dont care about noise and want to have maximum efficiency get a lapco bigshot. If you dont care abotu efficiency or want a quiet barrel get the dye ultralight

My favorite barrel is the Dye Stainless Steel barrel. It is very, VERY accurate with my favorite paint, big ball, and also with Marballizer balls. I have tried both and stand firmly by this barrel, with the right paint it is great. Unless you are thinking about going pro- all high end barrels perform mostly the same (ex. boomsticks), but what you want to look for is stainless steel as it is 1. very durable and won't rust, 2. low resistance to the paint passing through (both the boomstick and Dye stainless are the same in theory)
Don't be put off by arg's rambling... he is nit picking. An aftermarket barrel is highly recommended to improve your paintballing experience.

Why am I getting so much flak for this post. I said to get an aftermarket barrel and AGD doesn't recomend one. If you look at it from a marketing stand point if AGD says they recomend so an so's barrel over who care's barrel they are endorsing that persons product. If you endorse something you get a kickback and you don't see any endorsement so they aren't getting kickbacks. Plus it is the equvalent of saying my part is worse then that persons part.

CP makes excellent barrels. I've used several over the years without any complaints. I believe that for your money you can't get a better value.

he does have a good point about the breach. People have problems with the LX scraping against the breach in certain aftermarket barrels. I am pretty sure I read this in the LX thread, so if you want to find it go read like the 30 pages or so.

I picked up a nice J & J 12 inch ceramic. I dont know if this is common for after market mag barrels but the J & J came with no nubins!!! Any way I bought a pack of the plastics, had to jam em in a little, but after taking the barrel on/off a couple of times the nubs broke in and it shoots nice.

every aftermarket barrerl i have bought for my mag has lacked a nubbin so i thi8nk it is common. but as far as the plastic nubbins ot fitting how about trying to trim it with a knife rather thn jaming it
