Scuba Tank To Fill Nitro @ Home!!!

Can you buy a scuba tank and fill your own air?

What materials do you need, where can you get them and how would you fill the air from the scuba tank to your paintball tank?

Yeah you can. You need a SCUBA tank and you need a fill thingie. You can buy one from most paintball stores. It's not filling, it's putting the same amount of pressure from the SCUBA tank into the desired tank.

fill "thingie" is actually a fill station...bbtpaintball.com has em for about 40-50 bucks...

        1. it screws onto the scuba,
        2. then you connect your bottle to it.
        3. open the big black knob on the scuba
        4. wait for the air to stop hissing
        5. close the big black knob
        6. open the pressure relief valve on the fill station
        7. disconnect your tank from the fill station
        8. kick some butt with your mag!!

p.s. see if the dive shop will RENT filled tanks, instead of buying one...

I say rent one also. Then you can have a day of filling everyone's tanks and all. Then you just switch off on people renting.

          OR

You and a few friends could buy one and keep it at one person's house and just fill it up whenever you need to...

I bought a used tank from the scuba shop for 80$ and I bought a fill card. Its a bulk fill discount card that you pay for all up front then they just punch the card when I go in for a fill. With the card my fills are $1.50. Make sure you tell them your filling for paintball.

About how many fills will a typical full scuba tank provide?

How much is renting a scuba?

It all depends on how big of a scuba tank you get and how big the tank is your filling. I have an 80 and when it is full to 3000 I can get about 5 fills at about 2500 before the pressure starts to drop.
At my dive shop it cost about $4 to rent a tank and they fill it.
It also costs $4 to fill your tank there
Also make sure your field will allow you to fill your own tanks...some do not allow it (insurance issues)

Ok...I happen to own and fill my own scuba tank..

                    You need 2 things

Scuba tank (80cf 3kpsi or bigger)

And then a Scuba Fill addapter (scuba valve-quick disconnect addapter)..

Expect to pay about $120-$160 for the whole setup.

Fills really vary on how much PSI your smaller tanks have versus size of scuba tank..

I get typically 3 good 2000psi fills if all 3 tanks are bone dry, however, if they had 1000psi, I could get about 5 good 2.5k fills.

80cf/3ks are really designed for personal use, and maybe a friend or two. If you really want to fill your friends, try a 120cf/3.5k, they give you about 10 good 2k fills on bone dry tanks. I ran a 80cf/3k and a 120cf/3.5k at a tourney in June, our guys went through about 2 fills each (2 , 3man teams) and we got reliable 2k+ fills every time.

Also, if you want even more bulk fills. Try a bulk n2 station...Preferably a 500cf/6k PSI....Easily run a whole tournament on 1 tank =)

well if ya want your own air, well buy a compresser( about a 5000psi compressor, get a few 500cf 6000psi tank, and a few fill stations, and wabamb, fill your tanks anytime, w/ out any problem. It'll cost ya about $60,000 or around it. but hey in the lllllllloooooooonnnnnngggg run ya might make up for it?

yes you can fill scuba's with co2. you just to find a right place where you can buy/rent a scuba and fill it. you will also need a fill station for co2 tanks and a scale to measure the weight of the tank.
