    FPS question

I just got my RTP today. (yay) I was just wondering about FPS adjustments. My marker came from the factory set at 275fps. It has the X valve and the ULe trigger. Will I have any problems using just the screw in the back of the regulator to adjust my velocity up to 300 (woodsball) and down to 255 (indoor hyperball)? By this I mean will I have to change the valve spring or adjust the shims or anything like that. Also whats up with the overflow valve? How high does my velocity have to get before it starts venting? Thanks.

You SHOULDN'T need to change your velocity to go from 255 to 280. I ran at 260 and 285 with the same spring.

And above 300fps, it'll start venting.

Once I had my LX setup perfect I can go from 250 to 300 without changing anything. I have seen it turned around though and for some reason some setups require spring and shim changes over a wide FPS band.

Thanks, you guys are really helpful. How will I know if its spring/shim change time? I.e. what phenomena will I observe indicatationg that a spring or shim change is necessary? Thanks again.

slow end - too little velocity (i.e. input pressure) to cycle the gun

high end - too much velocity and the gin will vent out the back of the reg.
Aim for 270 FPS with the middle spring and then adjust from there. Seems to work for lots that way!

If your new marker does not leak and fires ok then do not change anything. Just use the velocity adjustment screw in the back of the valve to change the FPS. IF IT'S NOT BROKEN DON'T FIX IT!
