    E-Mag and cold weather

Is it possible the electronics of an E-Mag will "Freeze" in cold weather?

Last night took my e-mag to CCP, I didn't use it, I was filming. But I wanted to let someone try it out. It had been in my trunk all night, and was about 45degrees or so. The RT mode was fine, the electronic mode wasn't working at all.

So after storing the Mag in the house overnight, I put the air tank back on it, and dry-fired it. E-mode was fine. So it's not broken. Just, well, 'frozen'?

Any ideas on if E-Mags lock in cold weather? Help?

Well at 45 it should not freeze but what may have happened is that you developed a short/open circut that is temp sensitive. put it in your freezer with out the batt and see what happens or wiggle the wires while shooting to see if you can find a short/open circut . Sorry for the cheese head comment I could not resist.

It's ok. I'm from Chicago originally.

Ok, so look for the frozen wire that falls off? It's "working" now, I'm tempted to just leave it, knowing it's working.

I'll try it when I'm awake.

It may not fall off but the temp could cause a small gap if you will to form when the metal in the wire shrinks causing the solenoid or the hes ect. to not get power or function.
