AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
I can tell you.
Go and buy some Drano , or its equivalent.
Pour some in the sink and fill with warm water.Put the barrel in there and leave it for a while. The Anno will come off.
Do not touch with your bare hands.Use rubber gloves to remove it and for handling it until you reseal it.
You will need to do some light sanding with some fine sandpaper or steel wool to "re-smooth" the surface as the Lye will leave the aluminum dull looking and unsealed.
After sanding , seal the barrel with a good polish/wax or clear coat.
This method will leave the inside of the barrel as rough as the outside.I suggest using an old battle swab and mothers polish on a drill to work the inside of the barrel.
