i own both, and so right now the egg is out of commision (waiting on replacement lid)
i've gone through a pair of shells, and a battery door, and now a lid with the egg so far.

the halo, well, no broken parts yet.

but they both have their benefits.

    egg positive-
    better battery life vs halo
    holds more paint
    wont out shoot it

    egg negative-
    cheap shells, feels cheap
you eat it because it sits back so far

    halo positive-
has best burst rate(due to the spring)
    shells are strong, feels solid
    wont out shoot it

    halo negative-
    eats batteries
doesn't hold that much paint (tad bit more than one pod)

Well, I have an Egg and my best friend has a Halo. He's replaced his batteries twice and I am just at the end of my first set. I have, however, replaced the shell once and the lid 3 times on the Egg. Next time something breaks on this thing, I'm buying a Halo. So far, my replacement parts have put him cheaper on cost and he hasn't had the frustration of busted shells and lids.
The arrogance of other people annoys me. My own doesn't bother me a bit.

          you reminded me..

the egg also has a 'wrap around benefit'
say you edge around a bunker, with the gun tilted inwards, the egg wont stick out in the open like the halo would, so it *kinda* lowers your profile

            depends on the gun
some guns have trouble with halo's (angels).
and some guns have the feed neck set really far forward and benefit from an egg because it balances out the gun.

The halo is a better overall hopper, but it is 60$ more.
Get the egg unless you are ripping really fast, short bursts.

The halo is overkill for practical mechanical gun use.
