OD of SS Hose?

Does anyone know off hand the outer-diameter of the SS hose that comes on mags? I need to pick up some shrink tubing today and want to make sure to get something that's going to fit over it.

You'll need 1/2" shrink tube in either a 2:1 or 3:1 shrink ratio. The OD of the line is approximately 1/4" but you need the 1/2" shrink tubing to fit over the ends of the hose. And if you want different colors of shrink tubing look at www.cableorganizer.com/heat-shrink/ .

Does heatshrink just shrink the diameter of the tubing, or will it shrink length too? Obviously if I cut the tubing just the right length and it shrinks it's gonna look funny.. so should I cut it longer?

Or does it just shrink diameter?

It only shrinks the diameter...

The length will shrink as well, although no where near as much as the diameter. When I did it I cut the heat shrink about 1/8" of an inch longer than I needed it to be (measuring from the inside to inside of the 7/16" nuts). That way it was pretty close to being the perfect length when it shrunk.
