lvl 10 odd occurence need solution

ok its been a while since i last played but i also wanna get this lvl 10 issue worked out...had it installed and setup perfectly worked for quite a while.. then it took i direct hit, and i mean a direct hit my brother shoot a paintball all the way down a 14 inch boomstick striking the bolt with close to all its force.. gun stops working.. so i retuned it and got it working with just alittle more striking force than before.. but now the bolt strikes aftermarket barrels and with my minimag barrel it over hangs and causes jams.. i mean overhangs as in the bolt is not returning completly and and isnt leaving enough room for a paintball if it is rolled in on the fat part of the seem to feed properly.. any ideas would be great in the mean time i will just use it stock it still rips and only breaks one in like 2k...also when my lvl 10 did work it had horrible velocity consistancy like +/- 10-15fps now it is +/- 2-3fps..oh yeah forgot the gun is an 03 classic

Have you checked the front frame screw? Often if they are to long they will push on the barrel and mess up alignment.

      nope not that

the screw is just dandy i just checked it. and the gun worked fine with the lvl 7 parts in it. the problem lies within in the lvl 10, i just dont know what it is!!!and that would be a waste to have to buy a new kit.

Take the gun completely apart and clean it. Most likely there is a piece of ball shell stuck somewhere. You should probably retune your level 10 after it is broken in for a bit. The oring tolerences will change.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

now that was one lucky (or unlucky) shot. Never even heard of that one before.
A high speed camera on that one would be a trip.

i really really doubt it is possable to shot down a barrel....at one yes but to shot a paintball down a barrel without it breaking and hit your bolt.....that odds have to be amazingly small of that happening...their is just way too many factors involved....but hey it might just be me....(i dont have an anser to your question ...but i highly doubt that is what caused the problem (seeing how its near imposable)

A paintball from another person going down a barrel has happened more than you think.

What you need to do is pull out your valve, take the bolt and spring and wash them off in the sink with some soap and let them dry. Then, look at the bumper and make sure there aren't any paint shell fragments stuck on/under it.

Next, take off the PT tip with a cresent wrench or 3/8" end wrench. Look down in there to see if paint got down the PT. If it did, use your field strip screw or a dental pick to pull out the carrier and clean it out with Q-Tips. Put it all back together with a bit of oil on the carrier o-ring and grease on the black o-ring (makes it much easier to put back in).

Test it out and everything should be fine.

                      ok im not dumb

ok you guys im sorry but its not cuz of paint shell in the gun cuz the night that happened i cleaned the whole gun not to mention i also cleaned the inside of the powertube and the spacers and retuned the lvl 10!!!the bolt sits forward and low..and to answer the sceptic the ball might not have made it all 14 inches but it got farther than half way down before it broke and then struck my bolt with near a full impact enough to instantly cause the gun to stop working!!!i wouldnt lie but i will admit his hyper mag got alot of paint in my direction!

sorry bout the last post but being told to clean my gun wasnt an expected answer...not to mention i had just got done fighting with a manager at work so i wasnt happy...anyways the gun has been cleaned numerous times oiled and i cant find any paint chips left in any part of the gun! im really leaning to a worn outer Oring on the carrier might have been dented.. does anyone agree with me!!!

I've seen paintballs get shot down barrels.
I've seen paintball collide in mid air from back guys trying to shoot each other.

All I know is anything can happen

I'm still thinking there's paint down the power tube.

So, you say that and then never mention after it that you did go through the gun and clean it up. I mention you should clean it first and you get upset that you got that for a reply?

                            Wow.

Anyway, it might not hurt to replace the bolt spring. If you have return issues, that can be a cause. Also, check your LX carrier o-ring fit. If that is too tight, it will give you problems. You should be able to slide the bolt back and forth on the PT with little resistance.

The black outer o-ring does nothing but seal air. If it's bad it will leak and it won't change pitch if you push on the bolt. Otherwise, it doesn't affect the performance.
