    Classic Valve Problem

    Hi All,

I've been given an old automag because it doesn't work, when I stripped the valve there were a few parts missing and a few parts that don't look right.

The On/Off valve had the top missing (but had what looked like 2 used burst disks put in it's place).

The back part of the valve assembly itself looks to be an aftermarket one (does not have the air gun designs writing on it!) - something like the ANS phase 2 charger!

Instead of having a PT spacer kit, this valve has a spring, is this right?

When I gassed it up and fired it it seemed to go full auto for about 10 shots. Then I replaced the missing on/off valve parts and removed the burst disk items Now after gassing up the marker it wont fire! the trigger has resistance but pulling it achieves nothing!

Could this be something to do with the PT spaces being replaced by a spring?

    Regards

    Deker

Actually the spring in the pt is the original design. It was then later exchanged to the spacers. It should work with the spring, I think.

      Wow, that was quick.

I thought that may be the case...

The valve seems to gas up fine just wont fire - I may try changing the sear to see if that makes a difference

      Regards

Is your trigger rod the right length? You can find the correct length here:

Not sure I'll check tonight. it does look a little damaged tho - I have an x-valve trigger rod that I could try later as well.

I'm thinking that it will be as it fired full auto prior to replacing the parts in the on/off.

          Regards

You might just need to turn up the velocity to get it to fire.

              Hiya,

I've turned it right up - until gas started coming out of the adjuster.

              Regards

Well, if it has an aftermarket valve, that could be the problem. They never really work.
