My E-Mags Noid & plunger, possible problem?

Since I can't afford to send my E-Mag to someone for a tune up and check up, I have to turn to AO for help. (ya, I'm that strapped for cash )

I believe that my solenoid is dying or out of wack some how. Reasons why is my E-Mag has been missing shots recently. After I noticed this, I confirmed this by putting the marker in 10 shot burst mode(I have a Morlock board by the way..) and firing the marker. Each time, it would only fire about 4 to 6 shots, varying each time. It does this now all the time, in all modes, when originally it was off and on.

I have the right on/off assembly and pin length, as well and that "quad" o-ring. The battery is charged too when it does this, so I pretty sure thats not the problem. I also know my E-Mag is regeristing the shots because I can see the little green light blinking, but my E-mag will shoot MUCH slower than it is blinking.

Is my solenoid indeed the problem? Or could it be the plunger? Or something else? It does this no matter what bps cap I use as well.

And the second part of my question, how do I properly check my plungers length, and how do I take it out without damaging it Is there a video out somewhere that shows how to properly take it out and check its length? Kind of like the lvl 10 installation videos?

And is there a way to see if my solenoid is indeed dying/dead?

I would greatly appreciate any help.

You need calipers to check your plunger length. The way to do it is to take off the valve, body, and grip frame and also the side panel on the grip with the display screen in it and pull the e clip off of the plunger and pull it out and the way to measure is from the tip of the plunger to the rounded end of the hinge that connects to the sear itself. The measurement is 3.010" I had this same problem when I first got my Emag so I adjusted it and put a drop of blue locktite on the threads of the adjustment screw on the plunger.

AGDFlash covered the sear plunger checking procedure well. Just make sure to take out the threaded axle on the side of the rail before you lift the rail off the grip frame.

Also, if it does need locked in place, use some green loctite. It is a wicking type, which will do a better job of getting in the threads and locking it in place.

One thing to check is the sear's movement. With the body off and the front frame screw still in the hole (for alignment) and the rail on the grip frame and safety off, push down on the back of the sear and let go. The weight of the plunger should bring the sear back down to where the E-Clip on the solenoid plunger touches the top of the solenoid. It should feel smooth in its range of motion. If it sticks before it drops all the way down in the solenoid, you need to bend the plunger threaded rod until it is straight and the sear moves smoothly.

You should measure the resistance of the solenoid. It should be ~3.0 ohms.

The other thing to check is the solenoid dwell. Go to www.exarin.com and look at the manual for the Morlock. Run through all of the settings and set it so that you're in single solenoid mode, the first solenoid dwell is 25ms, your ROF dwell is set to 50ms for 20bps, the gun is in semi-auto and that should take care of it.

Test it again and if you're still having issues, you might want to look into replacing the solenoid.

Thanks Black, I really appreciate it.

If I do indeed need a new solenoid, about how much do you think it would it run me?

Also, is my Warrenty voided since I do own a Morlock Board?

Once again, I appreciate the help.

          fixed!

Thanks for the help Black, my plunger was off by .016, so I changed it to its normal length (3.005), then changed the dwell to 25ms like you said, and now my baby purrs

Thanks again guys for the help!

Now I'll I got to do is buy some more of those bumpers, mines all chewed up
