Lvl 10 woulndn't install

I have a Minimag. I bought the level 10 bolt kit and a can't seem to get it to work. I THINK I got the right carrier, because it's not leaking. It will only shoot with the small spring, but it still chops. I tried the other spings, but I have to turn the velocity up so much that you can see a very lage amount of gas coming out the end of the barrel when you fire the marker. So what should I do? What sping should I be using (red, or silver)? Please help me.

You want to use the largest carrier that doesn't leak. My guess is that you have a real tight carrier on there and there's too much friction for the bolt to travel.

Don't bother with shims until you get it working.
