    Marker fires during gas-up. Why?

    X-valve, ULT...

While gassing up the gun, often it will fire. Players nearby in the staging area find it a little disconcerting even with a barrel condom on. I don't blame them.

I've read a few others mentioning this in the ULT help thread, but their issue wasn't addressed (that I saw anyway.)

Any ideas what is causing this.

I don't like that answer either. Prior to my marker going to complete crap mine did this too. It's very disconcerning for other players. Why do mags do this? Why some and not others?

Part of the function of the valve system.

        I didn't design it,it's not my fault.

Just don't have your hopper on/filled when you're airing up, and you should be fine.

Right. The reason this happens is because of the way the automag functions. When you gas up the marker without the trigger held the on/off valve is still in the position you left it i.e. pulled probably. When the marker gasses up air tries to close the on/off assembly as it is supposed to, however at the same time air is also filling the firing chamber behind the bolt because the on/off assembly is resetting itself the bolt will move forward and seem to fire the marker. Once this has happened the on/off assembly is where it is supposed to be and the sear holds the bolt back waiting to fire. Does this help??

If you have your barrel condom on, it shouldn't be a big deal Don't point it in anyones eyes.

My emag did this when i gassed it up. Tighten the rear assembly screw. Sometimes thumb pressure wont do it, use an allen and snug it up. GL!

It seems to make sense. Problem is, I've since tried it while squeezing the trigger (during gas-up) and it still fires on its own.

Guess I'll just have to deal with it for now.

                      Just a thought:

Check your bolt and sear for wear. If the bolt isn't being held back by the sear, and the on/off is open, it could cause it to fire.

                      Maybe?

if you are holling the trigger while gassing up and it still fires. check your on/off o-ring too. it should not allow ANY air into the dump chamber if you are holding the trigger down.

Thanks. I'll check the o-rings when I get home. I would think they would still be in good shape as they are still relatively new. Worth a look, though. Again, thanks guys for the help.
