    Warp battery selector switch

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful, and don't flame me if this has been brought up before. I did a quick search and couldn't find anybody having done this mod. I wanted to keep my revvy and warp batteries separate, and didn't like how fast the warp can slow down and die when using cheap batteries (I'm cheap!). I wanted to be able to quickly select between two batteries, so I mounted a switch on the right side above the electronics (in that little hollow area that you can see on the top back end of the warp). It's a three position switch that let's me switch between two different inputs from the batteries to power the warp. I used the HD 9v snaps from Radio Shack (which I read elsewhere wouldn't work, but they fit fine) and a switch from there also. Total cost, about $4.00, and now if I see the feed slowing down, I flip a switch, and have a new battery ready to rock! Silicon sealant keeps it all dry, and now I don't have to worry about losing my warp or warp/revvy combo due to old batteries!

Well I did mine 2 9v parallel than a simple on/off switch, twice the run time, and the ability to kill the pwr completely lets me leave the batteries in all the time.

I have to stop by the shack sometime soon anyway, but I was thinking that redundancy was good as well. I was thinging something along the lines of a 3 way switch though. Battery A / Off / Battery B

Redundant power and an off switch!
I really like the idea of a backup battery. In the words of Tom, "9 volts F****** Suck!"

My long winded description earlier missed the point that that is exactly what I have. Two inputs to the switch for A/OFF/B use. So yes, I can save the batteries when I'm not playing. Just make sure you use long enough leads to the batteries so you won't have to take the battery clip off to get the battery out! I learned that the hard way and now have a few splices for my effort.

I'm going to have to do some serious splicing anyway. I got my warp used and someone had already installed an on off switch. In doing so they managed to hack off enough of the wire so that when I went to change the battery without taking the two halves of the Warp apart I pulled the leads out of the 9volt snap. That's why I have to go the shack in the first place, to get a replacement snap.

If I were to do it again, and I might (being anal-retentive and such...), I'd probably have removed the stock wires and replaced them with longer ones to make it nice and clean. Again, my experience shows that the HD snaps work fine.

I would imagine 2 9v in parrelel would last just as long as 2 would seperatley. I would also highly recommend against cheap batteries, i have tried it before and the warp does not like them.
You can look into getting some rechargable batteries. You don't want just any rechargabel either as most put out only about 6v. http://thomas-distributing.com/9v-ni...s-chargers.htm i believe those are the kind you want if you choose to go rechargable.

On the first part, probably. But in a long game w/lots of use, it's possible for them to slow enough to cause problems. With them separate, when one is low enough to notice it, I've got a 100% fresh backup. I was going to do it in parallel, but I like backups in this instance.
On the second part, WRONG! The warp LOVES cheap batteries! Look how fast it eats them!
