    Smart mag

I remember a few years ago Smart Parts made a automag valve and i beleive it was called the smart mag. does anyone know if they still make it? What advantages did it have? and how does it compare to the retro valve? thanx

    for the record...

The smart valve did nothing, and was an overmarketed flop by smart parts. They just made the fixed volume chamber bigger and added other gimmic parts and made false claims. It created MORE shootdown over stock components.

This is where you hear smart part lies and thier midnight dream theories about how they can align the earths magnetic feilds to counteract gravity... or somthing like that. In other words they marketed it really well and duped alot of people. AGD disproved alot of these theories. Many of the theories and claims didnt even hold ground on the basis of general knowledge and basic physics.

The stock valve outperformed the smart valve, and there is no comparison to the retro valve.

As a rule of thumb... never belive anything smart parts said or will say. It got to the point that marketing became so good that smart parts could pretty much say anything and people would want to belive it.

Smart valve had a larger chamber, theirfore needed less pressure to shoot. This created shootdown problems. They also added an 8-hole mod, and I think an aftermarket on-off. AGD produced this for SP.

I think if AGD redesigned the AIR with larger holes around the on/off section there would be less shoot down and be able to run lower pressure. But If the gun is setup correctly it won't matter, I never ran my air through a gas through grip, from tank straight to valve through macroline.

Actually AGD did redesign the AIR, it's called a retro

          almost right.

AGD redesigned the on/off so that people wouldent put it in upside down anymore. If you look at old on offs its a brass washer with grooves cut into it. If you put it in upside down you will get massive shootodwn. The new one is symetric.

Also, you can have a valve in a mag that flowed the rate of hoover dam and it wouldent lower the pressure one bit. The mag is based on a fixed volume chamber that is filled with regulated air. The only way to lower the pressure is to physycally increase the volume of the automag dump chamber.
