I don't have a lot of money, so I was wondering if the Boomstick is really enough better to warrant the extra cost. Any notes?

J & J Ceramic or Dye Boomstick?
Tags: None -
i would just stick to the jj ceramic cause it is cheaper and will work just as well as the boomstick aslong as the paint fits the barrel well -
j&j
jj ceramic barrels are sweet, better than dye's in my opinion. light, durable, and quiet. they're also smallish bore, which is good 'cause of late i've noticed a trend towards paint being smaller than marked.Comment

Okay, I got an opportunity to try both and here what I've figured out so far.
With good paint, both barrels are excellent. With top end paint I couldn't find anything in the boomstick that would justify the difference in price. In fact, the relatively silent J&J is preferable to me because I play a lot of woodsball.
With cheap (ie crappy) paint, however, it's a different story. With the boomstick, I was firing away just like before. With the J&J, I was breaking paint left and right. I blame the smaller bore and the relatively non-roundness of the crappy paint. I think balls were stopping in the barrel now and then so that I was getting another smacking into it from the back.
My decision: go with the J&J and don't buy crappy paint.
