    Why the valve, anyway?

Ok I'm thinking about the mag, and thinking, why the back half of the valve is necessary anyway. Why not have a mag with just the chamber and an air fitting. So you could run (regulated) air straight to the chamber.

Air would go from the tank, to a reg (inline or VA) to the chamber. just adjust the velocity w/the reg.

Why force us to use the 'mag's regulator?

You can gut the mag's internal reg and use an external reg in its place. I have done this before to trouble shoot some problems I was having. I was using an ANS Gen-X II into the classic and it was surprisingly good. I think most people would rather use something more compact, but if you wanted to use it that way there would be no problem. All you really have to do is take out the reg seat and the pin with the spring behind it (on the classic, I can't remember the name), and you have temporarily gutted the reg, and if you ever want to use the AIR reg again just put those two parts back in.

I bet it'd be better to run a sideline stabilizer than the stock reg.

Also, the RT valve is not supposed to be run with CO2. I can't remember if it's the reg or on/off or what that can't take it; if it's the reg then a palmer's sure can take CO2.

It's possible to do that on a classic, but I doubt it will be possible to do on a RT. The reg is integrated with the on/off. Hence the reactivity, and the fast recharge time.
