Same thing happened to me with the medium spring in when I changed tanks, from a 68/3000 NitroDuck to 92/4500 Crossfire. Kind of odd but I had to change to the short spring, then it leaked down the barrel. So I then had to drop down a carrier size. All leaks are gone and it doesn't chuff anymore. If I shot slow it would chuff every other pull but would shoot fast with no problem. It did this with the stock on/off or the ULT. I didnt have this problem with the NitroDuck. With the nitroduck I couldnt get it to rapid fire, I can with the crossfire, strange. I'm thinking the crossfire has a higher output than the duck.

            My setup:
            ULE Custom
LX, short spring, #1 carrier, 1 shim
ULT, 3 ULT shims, 2 LX shims
            All American 12"
            92/4500 crossfire @ 800psi
            AM/MM trigger frame.
            RC oil
