    barrel question

Great forum. I have a q and finally decided to register. I have a ule body and I have a 16 inch boomstick with spyder threads. A machine shop in the area said he'd have to see it but he could probably cut down the barrel and put cocker threads on it. Has any one done this and was it successful? I really don't what to use an adapter because it is already 16 inches and doing this(new threads)would make it about 14, which is more to my liking.

yeah, that just sounds like a bad idea. youll probably spend 20-30 bucks getting that service done, with that money you could have bought a barrel that will perform better than a hacked up boomstick.
Buy a new barrel. keep the boomstick on the spyder, or sell/trade it here in the classifieds.
