My X-valve not recharging fast enough?

My X-valve is acting a little funny. If I fire it at a slow rate, it works fine. But when I get up around 12-13+bps, it will fire and then stop. I can hear my Hyperframe solenoid clicking away, but no firing. Then I wait a few seconds and hear a small hiss then a click as the valve recharges. If that does not happen, I degass the marker, then gas it up again and it clicks and shoots again. Once again though, if I go too fast, it can't keep up. I have the new board on the Hyperframe and have tried adding more power to the solenoid and decreasing the dwell time as well as increasing it to no effect. I replaced all the o-rings in the valve, just in case it was something with those. They didn't look bad anyway as I am a meticulous oiler :) . Now I think I'm over my head. I also have a ULT kit installed, but that should only effect the trigger pull strength, not the re-charge rate, right?

    Help...

I'm willing to bet your on/off orings are dry as a bone. I had that same problem at TeXball. I was fine shooting slow. Shooting fast and it would chuff and sputter. I dumped oil into the on/off, made sure te quad oring was nice and lubed and basically oil the crap out of everything, including level 10 orings.

Also, try lubing the reg pin. (Mix some Dow33 and some oil into a paste and lube that pin up.)

Input is at 800 psi and I have lubed the heck out of everything, including the on/off. I will try lubing the reg pin as you suggested, Day. Keep the ideas coming guys :)

          Doobie,

I'm experiencing similiar issues with my emag.

All fingers point to my input pressure/bottle reg.

Which bottle are you using, if you don't mind me asking?

The 68/4500 Crossfire "red reg" that I've been using does not cut the mustard (or at least doesn't seem to).

Do you experience the same anomalies WITH the stock on/off assembly?

I have a AGD Flatline 4500. Maybe 800psi is too low, but it shouldn't be for a mag. Heck, I'll crank it up some and see what happens. I'll try anything now.

                Doobie,

                Up that puppy!

A healthy dose of lube can't hurt either.

I upped it to around 875psi and it still won't go faster than 13bps. Any faster and it does that "ssssSSSSick" sound and then will fire one shot while the frame keeps ticking away. I mean 14bps is right out. (I tested in FA mode) I am now almost out of air and have to wait to get a a fill for further testing. I will re-oil, lube, grease, etc, until that time. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

Man I can't wait to get my X-mag!

how many shims are you running in the ULT? Is it a used valve with a broken in Level 10?

I'm going with...acting like the on/off pin is a tad long so add another shim to the ULT.

Two shims and the valve (lvl 10) is broken in. It's got a couple of cases through it.
