Ran some oil thru my Xvalve and it stopped working

Well I gassed up my mag and it was shooting fine then I decided to oil it some since had gone about 2weeks w/o. So I run 6 drops of oil in my ASA and gased up. The gun preasurizes fine but when I pulled the trigger I was getting 2 shots per pull. After ~5 pulls, the bolt starts leaking then I lose preasure to the on/off pin all together. My tank was pretty low so I think it might just a problem of lack of preasure to the valve but I dont know.

    Any help/ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks

6 drops man thats a lot. Isn't it like recomended 2 or 3. I keep mine pretty well lubed with that. Make sure you fire it good once you get your tank filled or you're going to end up with oil in your barrel.

wow 6 drops... thats alot of oil my mag works well with 1-2 drops every other month and i believe thats the way they were ment to.. anyhow save yourself some money on oil and take it easy 6 is coming close to over doing it since the only things you are oiling is orings..

bah... mags run on oil and o-rings, not air. it's not shooting cuz you didn't put enough oil in. take the valve out, pull the bolt, and upend the whole bottle into the power tube. it'll shoot like a champ after that.

            j/k

but, 6 drops isn't bad. just pull your barrel off and shoot it through. most mags in my area could use the occasional "douching" --Funk

Too much oil can cause leakage problems in retro valves. The excess oil prevents the o-rings from sealing properly. One of the o-rings that can cause this is the regulator seat. You can cure it by taking the valve apart into two halves and wiping the excess off the surface of the back half of the valve. Excess oil in the on/off or powertube can be blown out by firing the marker.

Mags like oil in the front half (on/off and powertube), but too much in the back half is bad.

only one problem with that. According to AGD, everytime you unscrew the halves of a classic/minimag AIR valve, you need to replace the reg seat. So, before you do such, make sure you have a spare handy.

This is not an issue with RT/Xvalves, though. Although, I've NEVER run into an over-oiling issue with mine. Whatever. --Funk

I've never seen the excess oil on the reg seat cause a problem in the standard valve, only the retro valves because of the way it is designed. You shouldn't have to take anything apart to oil it. A drop or two down the powertube before every day of play works well. don't oil as often in the air inlet. Judge by how wet the inside of the valve is. It should have an oily film but not be overly wet. The on/off assembly will be fine if the back is fine.
