Mags and C02

I've been running my mag on C02 for years with no problems. I'm going to be getting a ULE custom, and so I'll be switching over to HPA. I was wondering though, why is is that L10 and X-Valves don't like C02? Is it because of liquid freezing the seals, or pressure differences? Related to that, is there an o-ring that can handle liquid better?
